Missuzarmbrister asked: The pipes seem to moan all on their own, not just when the (hot & cold) water is used in varying parts of the house. House was built and remodeled entirely in 1976 and 2002, respectively.

drennen asked: my landlord is trying to hold us responsible for a plumbing bill, and replacement of carpet padding in the bathroom and kitchen, becaue we had a back up in the shower drain, he is trying to telll us that HIS plumber buddy found baby wipes when snakeing out the drain, therefore we are responsible for the damages and the bill. (they are FLUshable wipes made by kleenex) we called a plumber out of the phone book and he came over and looked at our plumbing and told us that the plumbing is outdated, and the tub is missing a p-trap. He said that it was very unlikely that those wipes would have caused aa problem that big.
the landlord is threatening to evict us if we dont pay the bill, what shoud i do?
i am in Ohio. we have had a problem with our toilet since we moved in. about 2 weeks ago, i called the landlord and told him that he needed to get a plumber over here, there was gurgling noises in all drains and the toilet, and a strong odor coming from the drain, that nite the shower overflowed while the tub was draining, and water spilled out over the edge, causing it too not only cover the bathroom carpet, but it came thru ceiling in kitchen and ruined kitchen carpet, he says that his plumber(came to fix it next day) said that he discovered baby wipes clogging drain. (they arent babywipes, they are kleenex flushables). he says that we must pay for the bill, and damages and repairs, because he feels that it was our fault that it happend. we called a plumb. out of yellow pages, he wrote us a estimate saying that the plumb.is outdated,lackingp-trap,and it is impossible wipes could have casued. landlord is threaten to evict us if we do not pay for all of this. what do we do????

inthemaking asked: Our kitchen cabinet is going to be painted (at last). But we can’t decide what color to paint it with. Actually the color of the kitchen tiles is maroon (kind of dark maroon). So what color goes well with that?
We really want it to come out well. We can’t afford to change it if we didn’t like it. And the house would most probably be “passed on” so ^^, you get what i mean.
Please and thank you!
P.S: The cabinet is made out of wood with not much design on it. And the kitchen is simple yet elegant (as our neighbors who see it comment on it.)

bluenile08 asked: I have lived in this apartment, in a large apartment building for over 4 years. This apartment is made out of almost all concrete, with no interior walls of drywall. I will be doing nothing related to flushing or running water, and suddenly the piles in my kitchen sink will start to vibrate, rumble and hum loudly. Turning the water on and off does nothing to change it. It generally lasts from 3-10 minutes and stops abruptly. Why is it happening, and is there anything I can do to stop it?

hey u asked: Try to picture these dimensions, and please give me ideas…My living room and family room connect (with an archway inbetween) and the rooms are both incredibly narrow and small. The family room connects with the kitchen/breakfast area which is hardwood flooring, and the LR/DR is all carpeting. There is little wall space due to windows and a fireplace….I can’t seem to do anything with these spaces – no matter how I arrange furniture, I can’t get a comfortable seating area with a TV in either room without it looking strange. I’m at the point where almost everything is removed from both rooms and I’m staring at empty space. Any design ideas from professionals or people who know what they’re talking about when it comes to decorating is needed – please don’t send links because I’ve googled this topic to death! Thanks!

Sunshines ma asked: My husband has always done an excellent job at remodeling and fix it jobs but where do we even begin? He has previously completely gutted and remodeled 2 bathrooms but the plumbing was already in place. Does it have to be done by a licensed professional?
We live very rural, no zoning etc. It is actually an old farm house we are renovating!

kirikara asked: My sister just finished remodeling and has a spare faucet, It is apparently a very nice and high quality faucet, basically something of better quality I could afford here. Would there be any problem using it for my bathroom in my 1920’s vintage building?
Actually, It is a vessel filler facuet so it is on the countertop and not on the actual sink I guess that would help making it fit…Anything I am missing otherwise? like pop up drain issues?
